Potential Impacts of Sea-Level Rise on Populations and Agriculture

Description:
Text, illustrations, and graphs address issues related to the potential impacts of sea level rise on the world's coastal populations and agriculture. This is a "global" study mostly based on national data. Chapters cover specific direct and indirect effects; an examination of whether or not any trends can be recognized in disasters that have involved coasts and population over recent decades; a "Vulnerability Index", based on physiographic features and population density, developed to allow a global and statistical discussion of some of the population and sea-level rise issues under consideration; and conclusions.
