Description:
Students create their own "Virtual Voyage," choosing a destination, researching their route, weather, navigation and provisions. Online, they have access to a sailing expert aboard the virtual ship Debra Ann, who helps students explore history, navigation, meteorology, and the countries visited by the explorers - past and present. Near the end of the unit, students examine each major ocean region to see that they still have an impact on the land, people and climate today.
