MEDALUS II is an international research project to investigate the effects of desertification on land use in Mediterranean Europe. It is funded by the Commission of the European Communities, Directorate-General XII for Science, Research and Development under its Environment Programme. MEDALUS III is made up of four separate projects, each specializing in different aspects of Mediterranean desertification.
