Landforms
Description:
The site provides a framework for teachers to construct their own lessons about how various kinds of landforms in North and
South America are created and change over time. Students view images
of selected regions from space and maps, and read descriptions of the
land forms and the history of the regions. Learning takes place
through observing, reading, drawing, and writing. Some regions
included are the Colorado Plateau, Columbia Plateau, Grand Canyon,
Amazon River Basin and Delta, St. Clair River Delta, San Andreas
Fault, Death Valley, and the Altiplano-Puna plateau of the central
Andes.
(Funding period now over. "NASA and OSPI generously
continue to provide servers and we at SAIC find some time to fix
problems and work with local teachers to write and post new
material.")
