Description:
Text with illustrations covers what ice ages are, and how ice sheets and glaciers form; what scientists do and do not know about why ice ages come and go; the possible link to a wobble in the
orbit of the Earth around the Sun; and a few concepts about ocean
circulation and heat transfer. Hotlinks to other sites with
background information are provided, with synopses of those sites.
Classroom activities are under development.
