Description:
Students team up with others around the world to investigate the relationship between proximity to the equator, temperature, and variations in hours of sunlight. They determine their global coordinates, collect temperature and sunlight data, and post these data on a web site. They compare their temperature and sunlight data with results from classes all over the globe. The activity blends science and math, and offers opportunities to compare cultures through email communications posted in an online Discussion Area.

The project is run over a specific time period, generally in the spring and fall of each year. The website can be checked for exact dates. One might also watch for improvements in the website, to be posted soon.
