Description:
Through this interactive distance learning Web site, students and teachers join geologists, geophysicists, chemists, and biologists on research cruises to the Pacific and Indian oceans to get the latest oceanographic and deep submergence research as it happens. Expedition 4 will take place March 27-May 5, 2001, and will focus on the biology, chemistry, and geology of newly discovered hydrothermal vents in the rift valley of the Central Indian Ridge.
