Boil, Boil, Toil and Trouble: The International Boiling Point Project

Description:
In this collaborative project, students discover which factor in the experiment (room temperature, elevation, volume of water, or heating device) has the greatest influence on boiling point. Project results are included in a national database. Students analyze all of the data to reach an answer to the question: What causes a pot of water to boil? A teacher's guide and background information are provided. The project runs twice a year, once in the fall and once in the spring.
