Sustainable Seas Expeditions Education Program

Description:
The Sustainable Seas Expeditions (SSE) is a five-year project of underwater exploration and discovery of the marine world with special emphasis on the national marine sanctuaries of the United States. SSE programs provide special opportunities for teachers to conduct research with SSE scientists, as well as to participate in a series of hands-on and virtual training workshops. Teachers who participate in these professional opportunities further the educational goals of the project by sharing their experiences with students, colleagues and administrators through lesson plans, presentations and educational conferences. The expeditions are a project of the National Geographic Society in cooperation with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) and other government agencies, industries, and private institutions.
