Satellites in Our Everyday World
Description:
During this teacher workshop in March, 2002, thirteen sessions with extended labs will cover applications for satellite data, including meteorology, oceanography, forestry, fisheries, geology and natural/man-made hazards monitoring. Teachers will also learn image interpretation and how satellite data can be applied in the classroom. All sessions will be held at the University of North Carolina campus in Asheville, with joint sponsorship by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.
