Atmospheric Interactions
Location:
United States
Description:
The Virtual High School (VHS) project is a
collaborative of high schools from around the country. In exchange
for contributing a small amount of teaching time, a school in the
collaborative can offer its students NetCourses ranging from advanced
academic courses to technical and specialized courses. (See web site
for more information.)
In the Atmospheric Interactions course, simple meteorological
observations are interwoven with web based assignments, problems,
graphing activities, and writing assignments. Students learn that
weather and climate involve the transfer of energy in and out of the
atmosphere. They learn how winds and ocean currents are produced on
the Earth's surface, and other aspects of weather and
climate.
