Research and Methodology, Sustainable Seas - Activities for 9-12
Description:
Students analyze and write plans for managing mapping procedures
for the Sustainable Seas Expeditions, justifying those procedures and explaining
technologies and techniques. They investigate what it means to work in
"extreme" environments, such as deepest areas of the ocean, polar regions,
or hydrothermal vents, and write exploration plans. Then they research
and write about ways in which satellites are used in oceanography and marine
biology. Online research resources are suggested for all aspects of these
activities.
