My Plate's Faster Than Your Plate

Description:
This investigation of plate tectonics focuses on the three types of plate boundaries, interactions at the boundaries, and their effects; the causes, directions, and rate of their movement; and their effect on geographical features. Students obtain and analyze data from the Internet to make general predictions of future locations of selected cities.

This investigation is under development. To participate in pilot testing, go to the website for NASA Goddard Earth and Space Science Education Project (GESSEP): http://edmall.gsfc.nasa.gov/ and click on "To Pilot Investigations."
