Exploring the Environment
Mars Landing
Description:
ETE encourages students to collaborate to solve real-world problems dealing with modern environmental challenges. For
each module students read background information and learn about
their situation before they solve a problem. Read teacher pages
before beginning.
In "Mars Landing," students imagine they are astronauts
aboard a spaceship that has been orbiting Mars. They are now
preparing to land safely by studying Viking Images of the Mars
landscape. Students use tools in the application NIH Image to locate
an appropriate landing site.
