Exploring the Environment - Tropical Poison

Description:
ETE encourages students to collaborate to solve real-world problems dealing with modern environmental challenges. For each module, students read background information and learn about their situation before they solve a problem. Read teacher pages before beginning. In this module, students analyze the benefits and problems of protecting biological diversity in Amazonian rainforest from destructive clearing for human development, and make policy recommendations to a group of scientists and representatives from government, business, and industry. In the course of their analysis, they measure environmental change with Landsat images.
