All Systems Go!: A WebQuest for Earth Systems Science

Description:
Instructions and teacher and student resources are provided for a student-centered activity on Earth system science, in which students prepare a presentation for a governor to teach him the nature of Earth system science. Students construct a working definition of systems; determine whether or not the Earth is a system; search the Internet for relevant material; visualize the Earth system with concept maps; and prepare a PowerPoint presentation. Evaluation rubrics are provided for student use. It is assumed that students possess fundamental computer word processing and Internet skills.
